Frequently Asked Questions

What is therapy?

Therapy is a professional and confidential space where you can speak with a licensed professional about challenges you are facing. Therapists are equipped to provide you with evidence based support, guidance, and practical tools for improving your overall well-being.

How do I know if I need therapy?

Some common signs that therapy might be helpful for you include:

 - You're feeling stressed, anxious, or down more often than usual

 - You're having trouble coping with a life change or loss

 - You feel stuck in negative thought patterns or habits

 - Your relationships feel strained or difficult

 - You're struggling to focus, sleep, eat, or enjoy things like you used to

 - You want a safe, non-judgemental space to be heard

How often should I come to therapy?

This depends on your needs and goals. Many clients start with weekly sessions for consistency and a chance to build and strengthen the therapeutic relationship, then adjust frequency as progress is made. We will discuss together what works best for you.

What can I expect during my first therapy session?

The first session is an opportunity for us to get to know each other. We will talk about what brings you to therapy, your goals, and any questions you might have. It's a relaxed and confidential space to explore your needs and whether we're a good fit.

Do you accept insurance? What are your fees?

Yes - I am currently in network with most major insurance companies. I am not in network with Medicare or Medicaid at this time.

My self-pay rate is $150 per session. Please contact me for details about rates and payment options.

How long will I be in therapy?

The length of therapy varies for each person. It depends on your goals, the challenges you're working through, and the type of therapy. Some people find a few sessions are enough to gain clarity or learn new coping strategies. Others may benefit from longer-term support to work through deeper issues or continue maintenance.

How do I book a session with you?

You can reach out via contact form, email, or phone to schedule a complimentary consultation. I do my best to respond to all messages within 48 hours.

What is your cancellation policy?

I require 24 hours notice (via email or phone call/voicemail) for cancellations and/or rescheduling. Missed appointments. late cancellations, and late reschedules will be subject to the full session fee.
